The Story So Far

Right now I’m dealing with the two premier vampire nations in my settings. These nations are ruled over by various vampire families and their half blood children.

The Tsardom of Chernobog is the largest and oldest of the two. Chernobog is controlled by Tsar Samuil Maslov II. He is over 400 years old and suceeded his father who was killed during a battle with…someone (still working on that part). He is only the second Tsar of Chernobog. He is well loved by his people and supported by the military, his vast reforms have helped his land more than any of his fathers military conquests.

To the west of Chernobog is the Queendom of Vaedda. The Queendom is lead by Queen Hilda Maurer III much like her mother and grandmother before her she has spent large sums of the nations money building up the network of fortresses along it’s borders which has earned her the title of The Third Mason Queen. She was a general before becoming queen, she never lost a bottle and earned the title of The Bloody for the massive amount of causalities she had a habit of inflicting on her enemies. The only problem that is foreseeable in her future is the fact that she has twin daughters and hasn’t picked an heir.

Chernobog is suppose to have a very Russian feel to it and Vaedda had a Germanic feel in my head.

Lets Talk Chernobog!

Chernobog, for those of you who do not know, was a Slavic deity known as the Black God. He was the evil version of Belobog, who was sometimes called The White God…but are talking about his goody two shoes self. We are talking evil!

Christians bring us our only historical view of this guy and he is known as a dark, accursed god of…evil things. People actually doubt how important Chernobog was to the Slavic countries, reference to him only appears in Western Slavic countries in the 12th century so it’s believed that he wasn’t that old or that important.

Chernobog is popular today, he was in Kingdom Hearts as a boss because he appeared in the “Night on Bald Mountain” sequence from Disney’s Fantasia (1940). I’m also told he is in the Heirs of Alexandria series by Mercedes Lackey and a few other people…I’ve never read this series though.

There is a reason behind this rant as I have decided that in the WoD Fantasy setting I am working on one of the two Vampiric nations will be called The Empire of Chernobog and they will have a very Russian feel to them. Yeah…all this lead up to that.

No where else to put it so I’m doing it here.

So, I run RPGs via Skype, the pen and paper variety though I suppose now you could call it the mouse and PDF variety. I enjoy running more then I do playing unless it’s a very specific game and I’m allowed some freedom to stretch my wings. The point of all of this is actually really simple, one of my odd little aspirations in life is to get a setting or my own RPG in general published and out there. Well I don’t see this ever happening but I hold out hope that I will get lucky. So why am I pretty much talking to myself as I don’t think more than like 1 person actually follows me…Well I want a spot to put up my setting information for a World of Darkness based game set in a fantasy style world…think Dungeons and Dragons but gritty with the good kind of vampires, who are willing to rip the skull of a human off and use it as a cup…which would be impractical due to eye sockets. Anyway, as I get things in order or more musings in general I’m going to put it up on here…cause it makes me feel cool :P.

Your Favorite Movie

So I know not many people follow me but I figure they have friends who can join in to. Anyway the idea is to post your top 2 favorite movies, or 3…or 1 or 15,000 I don’t mind. Anywho mine is The Punisher (2004 version with Tom Jane.) and Gods and Generals both were really good movies and I enjoyed them.
